It's official! We have the venue and the date! It's at Shoreline Church (Brookhurst and Ellis) on May 29th, at 7:30pm! I am so excited to finally get things moving! I have written a few arrangements to songs like The Longest Time and Lean On Me. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family and support system to lean on when I need help! They are so helpful! I am really a lucky person!
The other day I was talking with my theater group telling them about my sister. My sister had come to the school that day so I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to introduce her to them and tell them that she is my inspiration and the reason for my doing this project. She is a beautiful woman and I am very lucky to have her as my sister. I looked over at her and her eyes were all red... She was crying. My baby was so thankful that I was doing this for her and it made me cry as well. In front of all of my peers, we embraced each other with tears rushing down our faces. It was a bitter sweet moment. I love her so very much.
But enough of my sob story, here's a flier for the event! Hope to see you there!!!

Weeks 8, 9 & 10
Wow!!! I've missed a few blogs! But I'm back... and with more information!
In the passed three weeks, I've had the opportunity to think about my venue for this production. Originally, I wanted to use Huntington Beach High School's auditorium, but that was too difficult because HBHS doesn't like to allow students to run their tech and sound booths. Then I spoke with my mentor, Mr. Tison, and he offered the choir and theater room for the production and reception. I still hadn't made a decision.
Last week, we had a Spring Showcase choir concert at Shoreline Baptist Church. Last summer, I actually worked there as a sports camp counselor with Mr. Willard. I talked to him and asked him if I could use the theater space in there for my production! Unfortunately, he couldn't give me an answer, but he pointed me in the right direction! I emailed Kim and I'm waiting for her response! Hopefully she will say yes! If not... I'm resorting to the Choir/Theater rooms!
I've also spoken with a few of my friends, and they have agreed to perform at the concert. I am so excited for this!!!

Week 7
This week, I've come to the conclusion that I might need to have the showcase more close to home, like in my theater room of FVHS. I can decorate it to make it a more 'fancy' scene. I want this to be a more formal event that shows off the talent of many of my friends as well as brings awareness of ankylosing spondilitis!
The Pitches have begun writing music for the production and I think I have a set list in the making for this event! My mentor, Mr. Tison, said he would play for me for some of the songs, but I am actually thinking that I'm going to want to have the entire show student run! We'll see how it works out!
The Pitches!
We are all so excited to work on more music for this production!
